Lakefront Therapy Clinicians

Jasmin DeMarco, LCPC.

Hi, I’m Jasmin. I’m a licensed psychotherapist and the heart behind Lakeshore Therapy, a space built for deep and lasting change. I work with individuals, couples, teens, and families facing a wide range of challenges such as anxiety, depression, and trauma, eating struggles, identity shift, relationship ruptures, and major life transitions.

This isn’t about quick fixes or surface-level advice. Together, we’ll get to the root of what’s holding you back by addressing unspoken emotions, old patterns, and the stories you’ve carried for far too long. If life feels off-track, like you’re stuck in rules that no longer fit, or carrying things that were never yours to begin with, you’re not alone. This space is here to help you reconnect with your self, your truth, and your strength.

Our work will be tailored to you. I bring a blend of psychodynamic exploration, trauma-informed care, and relational therapy grounded in empathy, curiosity, and real human connection. No jargon. No Judgement. Just honest, thoughtful work that honors your story.

You don’t need to keep living in survival mode. Healing doesn’t mean forgetting your past- it means digesting it, so it can no longer define your future. Together, we will delve into the depths of your psyche to foster insight, build resilience, and nurture a sense of security. I look forward to the opportunity to connect with you and embark on this therapeutic journey together.

Alison Barkley

Hi, I’m Alison! I’m a pre-licensed counselor-in-training at Lakefront Therapy, and a counseling student at Northeastern Illinois University. I’m trained and eager to work with individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, relational strains, addiction, and LGBTQ+ exploration.

As a transgender woman from the southern United States, I am especially interested in working with individuals who are working through religious trauma and gender dysphoria. I hope to make the therapeutic space a safe haven, a place where individuals feel comfortable exploring difficult emotions or parts of themselves that they are not yet comfortable with. I believe all parts of ourselves are worth being seen and understood.

I’m not a cold, all-knowing and distant figure; I’m a person in the same room as you, growing with you, and doing what I can to help. I operate primarily from a psychodynamic perspective, exploring and bringing to the surface the unconscious thoughts and beliefs that drive us. I approach each client with genuine curiosity, not only because it’s necessary, but because I am genuinely curious! I want to know and connect with you. I strive to incorporate a materialist perspective in my approach; I don’t believe anything is random. We believe the things we do for a reason, and exploring those reasons can help us have a better understanding of ourselves and our place in the world.

I look forward to working with you!

Karsyn Prescott

I believe that healing happens through creativity, connection, and compassion. I welcome individuals from all walks of life who are seeking support through life’s challenges. I have particular experience with OCD, PTSD, trauma, anxiety, ADHD, autism, life transitions, and identity exploration, and I aim to create a safe and affirming space where you can show up as your authentic self.

As both a counselor-in-training and an art therapist, I blend talk therapy with creative approaches. Together, we might use art-making to process emotions, gain insight, and discover new ways forward. My work is influenced by humanistic principles of self-actualization and insight-oriented traditions, allowing us to explore both current challenges and the deeper patterns shaping your story.

My style is warm, collaborative, and inclusive. Whether through conversation or creative expression, I meet you where you are and honor the unique ways you make meaning of your experiences.

Therapy with me isn’t about perfection. It’s about growth, resilience, and finding beauty in crooked places. Together, we’ll create a space where your voice matters and your story can be reimagined with hope.
